What is Yoga & Mindfulness, and what are the benefits?

Yoga is great exercise, as it strengthens and stretches the entire body, whilst at the same time helps to calm and focus the mind, all of which are very important in today's fast-paced, technology driven world. Mindfulness involves focusing on the present moment and noticing our thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations and anything that is around us and happening right now. 

Here are just some of the potential benefits of practicing Yoga and Mindfulness:

 Promotes positive body awareness and self-image  

 Reduces stress and anxiety  

 Encourages kindness and respect
  Improves concentration and focus

  Teaches self-calming and relaxation techniques
  Boosts immune system and physical development

An experienced Primary School Teacher, graduate from Sally Parkes 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training, graduate from
Jo Manuel's Yoga and Mindfulness for Children Training.

I have always loved physical exercise and anyone that knows me knows that I would rather walk, cycle or run anywhere
rather than drive! However, I have noticed, over the years and especially as I get older, that when regularly exercising
stretching is imperative. I love how much stronger and flexible I feel after practicing yoga. However, yoga for me, is so much
more than that, it allows our mind to be still, focused, to let go of the list of 'to dos', to restore a sense of balance in our busy lives. I love teaching beginners as I was once a beginner and it has been an amazing journey for me. I also just want to share the joy of Yoga!
